Elin's Studio Tour

Welcome to my studio! Please come in and have a glass of California wine and let's take a look at where I do my work.

When you come to my studio, you walk around our home with its wonderful view to the east and north. I love living high enough to have a view--my art seems to need that uplifting, open space.

The open space around our place is the Nature Preserve, and it is full of wildlife and only open to hikers and horse riders. We love the peace and quiet, yet it is close to the city for all the amenities we enjoy.

Coming up the driveway, one turns right and faces the main house. The studio is located on the entire ground floor, including the area covered by vines on the left. The studio has a theater that seats 12 easily under the main house. This home used to be the site for cinematographer Ken Middleham's studio. He did groundbreaking work in time-lapse photography before computers in the 70s and 80s.

We've refurbished many of the attributes of the home.

Inside the area behind the vines is this stellar location for presenting workshops, and also for intense group sessions with lived models and still life (planned!).

With built-in shelves for wet paintings, good cross ventilation, this large space holds 12 workshop attendees.
